Dr. 桑托斯R. 科特斯

Director of the Writing and 学术支持中心

作为一个土生土长的德克萨斯人. 科特斯 earned his EdD in Developmental Education with a concentration in learning support from Texas State University, San Marcos. 他获得了硕士学位 in educational leadership and policy studies from the University of Texas, San Antonio, and his Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science with a minor in 历史, from Texas State University, San Marcos. Currently, he is the Director of the Writing and Academic Support Center housed in Swisher 图书馆's 3rd floor. Dr. 科特斯 oversees three academic assistance programs offered to 杰克逊维尔大学 (JU) students, writing consultation for undergraduate and graduate students, supplemental instruction services to targeted courses that are traditionally rigorous such as mathematics and science, and academic peer tutoring for multiple courses offered at JU.

Dr. 科特斯 began his career as a middle school social studies educator in the inner-city of San Antonio, Texas, in the fall of 2001. Shortly after the 9/11 attacks, Dr. 科特斯 resigned his teaching contract and enlisted in the United States Army as an infantryman and was assigned to the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) out of Fort Campbell, KY, where he saw extensive combat in both Iraq and Afghanistan. 他服刑8年半 years and returned to San Antonio to pursue a secondary career as an assistant principal. After completion of his master's degree in 2012, Dr. 科特斯 decided to pursue his doctoral degree for the purpose of beginning a postsecondary career serving student veterans through academic support, such as tutoring. 

Dr. 科特斯 has a 23yr old son, Anthony, who is currently enrolled as a senior at Texas State University where he is pursuing a bachelor's degree in business communication. Dr. 科特斯 enjoys working with students in helping them successfully complete their academic trajectories resulting in degree attainment. On his free time, you can find Dr. 科特斯 on the beach, at live concerts, or cooking for friends and family.

谢尔比的手 is a Senior 研究生 Assistant, and a graduate student in the Masters in Public Policy and Juris Doctor program. She completed her undergrad with a Bachelors in Kinesiology and Public Policy. Her hobbies include softball, her two dogs Bentley and Axel, reading fiction, and shopping. 

 

 

泰勒•贝茨

泰勒•贝茨 is a 研究生 Assistant, and a class of 2026 graduate student in the 双MPP-MMS程序. She completed her undergraduate studies in Biology and Chemistry. Her hobbies include her dog and two cats, cooking, shopping, and going to the beach. 

 

 

 

Sangeetha红桉 

大家好！! My name is Sangeetha and I am pursuing my doctorate in Occupational Therapy. A little bit about me, I am from Orlando and am a true Florida native. 我也爱 to dance (was on a competitive dance team in undergraduate), read, go to the beach, 和做饭. I chose to work in the 学术支持中心 to develop my leadership skills, which I will carry on in my OT career after I graduate! 

 

 

雷克萨斯Lealie

雷克萨斯Lealie is a 研究生 Assistant and is in the class of 2025 Occupational Therapy 博士项目. She pursued Occupational Therapy (OT) because she loves to help people be their best selves. She hopes to become certified in orthopedic hand OT as she has discovered her passion for rehabilitating hand injuries. 当她出席会议时 school, she works as a graduate assistant at the 学术支持中心. 她选择了 this position because it gives her the opportunity to combine her skills of adaptability and effective communication to achieve leadership development goals.

Her campus involvement includes being a Student ambassador with the 招生 office, intramural sports, and member 数学协会的成员. Her hobbies include reading, hanging out with friends, and watching 电影.
